Top CHEAP Tools for Christmas – under $30 buckaroos!

When Frosty the Snowman shows up in the Hammer & Home tool review zone, it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas… and the all-consuming consumer-driven way we celebrate the festive season.

No judgement here though. We are Team Shopping, all the way!

PICA Dry 3030/SB Dry Longlife Automatic Pen

Of all the mechanical pencils that he’s tried (and Brad has a teensy bit of a mechanical pencil fetish) Brad loves his Pica most.

It’s always clipped to his work overalls bib pocket. In fact, you may have noticed its repeated cameo in his tool reviews on our YouTube channel, Hammer & Home.

Excellent for carpenters, electricians, plumbers and more, the Pica has an onboard sharpener and will even write on wet wood. Check it out here.

Klein Tools 11-in-1 Screw and Nut Driver

This multi-use screwdriver has 11 bits. The main reason Brad loves it is he doesn’t have to flip the lid open, pull the bit out and change it around.

Lock and load, and away you go!

Dewalt Tough Cases

These little cases connect together, giving you an efficient case system to keep your bits altogether in one place, with a clear lid. Plus they’re sold with the bits, in all kinds of different combos.

Check out a couple of our faves here and here.

Leatherman Micra

Super handy and ready to attach to your keychain, the Micra comes in various colors and includes mini tools like scissors, a knife, a screwdriver, plus options like tweezers and a file to keep your personal grooming in check.

Check it out.

Usually priced just under $30, the Micra is an affordable entry into the world of Leatherman multi tools.

And if you want to splurge, consider the 20v Max XR Oscillating Dewalt MultiTool

Everyone needs a multi-tool.

Brad prefers the Dewalt because of its tool-less blade switching system and he uses it every day.

It’s a cutting tool, a sanding tool and more. It has an LED light, a variable trigger and quality rubber overmold. For the bare tool it’s usally about $100. The kit costs a little more but comes with some nice goodies.
